cleave is a collection of poems tracing our estrangement from nature, our enslavement on the treadmill of 'progress', and how we might address this.

The idea for this piece came from George Monbiot’s remark that we need a new narrative to counter the dominant neo-liberal ideology of the last 40 years. So I thought long and hard about why it is we are tearing our world apart and it seems to go right back to our attempted separation from nature. This is one possible version of that story. I am sure there are more...
